ஒருமைப்பாட்டின் பாதையில் பற்றுறுதியினதும் செயலினதும் முக்கியத்துவம்
திருச்சபை ஒருமைப்பாட்டின் தை 25ம் திகதி புனித பவுலின் மறுரூபமாகுதலின் திருநாள். எனவே இத்திருநாளில் திருச்சபை பிரிவுகளுக்கிடையே ஒற்றுமையை ஏற்படுத்தும் பணியில் எமது சிந்தனையில் மறுரூபமாகுதல் அவசியமாகின்றது.
‘வாழ்வும் பணியும்’ என்ற அமைப்பில் 1925ம் ஆண்டு பணியாற்றிய நெதன் சோல்டர் புரோம் அவர்கள் பின்வருமாறு கூறுகின்றார். “கோட்பாடுகளும் உறுதிக் கோட்பாடுகளும்” எம்மைப் பிரித்து நிற்கின்றன. ஆனால் செயல்கள் எம்மை ஒன்றிணைக்கின்றன. எனவே ஒருமைப்பாட்டு பாதையில் செயல்கள் முக்கியத்துவப்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன.
பழைய ஏற்பாட்டுப் பகுதியில் யோசுவா 4:1-11ல், இஸ்ராயேல் மக்கள் யோர்தான் நதியை கடந்த நிகழ்வு குறிப்பிடப்படுகின்றது. இது ஓர் பற்றுறுதியின் செயற்பாடாகும். கடவுள் செயல்படுகிறார் என்பதையும் அவர்மீது பற்றுறுதி வைக்கவும் எம்மை அழைக்கின்றார். மேலும் இந்நிகழ்வின் பின்னர் அடையாளமாக பன்னிரண்டு கோத்திரங்களையும் நினைவுப்படுத்தும் வகையில் பன்னிரண்டு கற்கள் வைக்கப்பட்டமை ஒற்றுமையின் அடையாளத்தை அல்லது செயலை வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றது.
திருப்பாடல் 67ல், அனைத்து உலகோருக்கும் ஆசி வழங்கும் கடவுளின் செயற்பாடு அனைத்துலக கடவுளை எங்களுக்கு ஞாபகப்படுத்துகின்றது. கடவுள் அனைவருக்கும் ஆசி வழங்கும் கடவுள். நாம் அனைவரும் அவருடைய பிள்ளைகள் என்பதைக் காண்பித்து நிற்கின்றது. தொடக்கநூல் 12:1-3, மத்தேயு 5:45,46, எபேசியர் 1:10.
திருத்தூதுவர்பணிகள் 4:32-36 வரையுள்ள பகுதி ஒருமைப்பாட்டில் இன்னுமொரு செயற்பாட்டை எமக்கு எடுத்துக் காண்பிக்கின்றது. தமக்குள்ளான சொத்துக்களை விற்று எல்லோருடனும் பொதுவாக பகிர்ந்து கொண்டு வாழுகின்ற ஆதித்திருச்சபையின் வாழ்வு ஒரு செயல்வடிவம் சார்ந்த ஒருமைப்பாட்டிற்கான ஓர் சிறந்த உதாரணமாகக் காணப்படுகின்றது. இக் கொள்கைதான் பின்னர் பொது உடைமை கொள்கைக்கு அடித்தளமாக அமைந்ததை மறக்க முடியாது.
வாசிக்கக் கேட்ட நற்செய்தி பகுதியிலும் யோவான் 6ம் அதிகாரத்தில் ஒருமைப்பாட்டில் இன்னுமோர் செயல்வடித்தை நாம் காண்கின்றோம். அங்கு சிறுபிள்ளை தன்னிடத்தில் காணப்பட்ட ஐந்து அப்பங்களையும் இரண்டு மீன்களையும் பகிர்ந்து கொண்ட போது ஐயாயிரத்திற்கு மேற்பட்ட ஆண்கள், பெண்கள், சிறுவர்கள், முதியவர்கள் அனைவரும் வயிறார உண்டு மகிழ்ந்தனர். எனவே ஒருமைப்பாட்டில் பகிர்வு மகிழ்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்துகின்றது.
இன்றைய உலகில் 20 வீதமான மக்கள் 80 வீதமான வளத்தையும் 80 வீதமான மக்கள் 20 வீதமான வளத்தையும் பயன்படுத்துகின்றனர். எனவே வளப்பயன்பாட்டில் பகிர்வு இல்லாத நிலை காணப்படுகின்றது. அபிவிருத்தி அடைந்த நாடுகளுக்கும் அபிவிருத்தி அடையாத நாடுகளுக்குமிடையே வளப்பயன்பாட்டில் சமத்துவமற்ற நிலை காணப்படுகின்றது. திருச்சபையும் இதற்கு விதிவிளக்கு அல்ல. எனவே எம்முடையவைகளை பிறருடன் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வோம். அதற்கூடாக ஒருமைப்பாட்டு பயணத்தில் சில வரலாற்று பதிவுகளை மேற்கொள்ளும் வகையில் செயற்சார்ந்த பற்றுறுதியுடன் எமது பயணத்தை தொடர்வதே காலத்தின் தேவையாகும்.

The Importance of Commitment and Action on the Path of Unity
The 25th of January, dedicated to Church Unity, is celebrated as the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul. Therefore, on this feast day, transformation becomes essential in our thinking as we engage in the task of fostering unity among the divided churches.
Nathan Söderblom, who worked within the “Life and Work” movement in 1925, stated: “Doctrines and dogmas divide us, but actions unite us.” Hence, actions are given great importance on the path toward unity.
In the Old Testament passage Joshua 4:1–11, the event of the Israelites crossing the River Jordan is described. This is an act rooted in commitment. It calls us to trust that God is at work and to place our commitment in Him. Furthermore, after this event, twelve stones were set up as a memorial representing the twelve tribes, expressing unity as a sign and as an action.
Psalm 67 reminds us of God’s action in blessing all the peoples of the world and points us to the universal nature of God. God is a God who blesses all, showing that we are all His children (cf. Genesis 12:1–3; Matthew 5:45–46; Ephesians 1:10).
Acts 4:32–36 presents another concrete expression of unity. The life of the early church, where believers sold their possessions and shared everything in common, stands as an excellent example of action-oriented unity. It should not be forgotten that this principle later became the foundation for the idea of common ownership.
In the Gospel reading from John chapter 6, we see yet another practical expression of unity. When a young boy shared the five loaves and two fish he had, more than five thousand men, women, children, and the elderly were fed and satisfied. Thus, sharing in unity brings joy.
In today’s world, 20 percent of the population consumes 80 percent of the resources, while 80 percent of the people use only 20 percent of the resources. This reflects a lack of sharing in the use of resources. Inequality in resource distribution exists between developed and developing countries, and the Church is not an exception to this reality. Therefore, let us share what we have with others. More than that, the need of the hour is to continue our journey on the path of unity with committed, action-oriented engagement, so that we may leave meaningful historical footprints along the way.
